Well it's been almost 2 weeks, so back to post.
What's happened since last time?
- The Fallschirmjager continue to progress. It's still slow, and I honestly think they will look pretty rubbish until completely finished - so no WIP pic. But, still feeling motivated to do it, which is something I usually struggle with.
- I've played weekly games on Tabletop Simulator with a friend, Star Wars Legion last week. Enjoyed it very much. One problem I'm finding is that almost every time I play there will be a point where I get disconnected, not a problem with friends but it's put me off joining in the To the Strongest! group online.
- Having watched some videos on the Artis Opus drybrush range I am incredibly tempted. As a rule I drybrush bases and sometimes hair/fur, nothing else because I just don't like the finish, but the results on these look fantastic.
- Continue to lurk on the Mortem et Gloriam facebook page and forum. I have a tactic when I get drawn in by something new. Consume as much as possible to see if overexposure puts me off. Not working so far, but a couple of weeks left until payday, so still time. If not, a purchase of the box is on the cards for sure.
- I've also watched a stream of the To the Strongest! conversion by the local club and I definitely want to have a go. Progress so far has been:
- I have purchased a big piece of green felt to put over my table in the garage and drawn some squares on it.
- Mulled over specific options for ancients gaming - had no conclusion so sticking entirely with the fantasy conversion for now. Further reading needed to decide on something with some actual history.
- Searched for paper minis I liked for fantasy given I want to have a play, not spend much money, and don't have enough things for 2 sides. This failed completely.
- Decided that for the purposes of a play I could just use a couple of my Gloomspite minis per "base" (cardboard rectangle). It won't look as good, but it serves a purpose to see try it out with my son and/or daughter.
And that's the lot for now. Back in a week (or so).
